So when in NYC, I had to visit the Forever 21 in Times Square. I got pretty excited to check it out, but I only gave myself 30 minutes to browse and try on clothes. The store itself was very huge, but it was very spaced out. So there were a lot of items, but not as much as what one would think. They even had a NYC taxi in the store. Regardless, I think if you are heading to Times Square, it is a must see shopping stop. Of course the prices in the USA are always better than here in Canada, but I surprisingly only bought two items. I picked up a sleeveless floral top and a pair of harem pants. I did not take pictures of the pants, but they are black and comfy. As for the top, you can enjoy it right here...
A written account of my "fashionable" purchases...Need I say more?

New York City Shopping - Post Seven - American Apparel California Fleece Cape
Last Fall, I really wanted to buy a cape. A cape is good for a layering piece or light jacket. However, living in Toronto, you can only wear a cape when the weather is transitioning from cold to warm or warm to mild cold. So, basically Spring or Autumn. So when I was on the American Apparel website one day, I found and fell in love with their California Fleece Cape. Knowing I was going to NYC where everything is cheaper than in Toronto, I stopped by an American Apparel and bought the cape! The style of the cape is pretty basic. It has buttons for the front closure, a hood and two slits to let your arms and hands through. So you can hide or show yourself. This cape comes in four colours: navy blue, red, green and black. I bought the black one and it was definitely one of my favourite purchases from my trip. I have been wearing it ever since I came home. It makes me feel like little red hiding hood or more so like Batman! LOL!!!

New York City Shopping - Post Five - Keds Sparkly Black Shoes
Comfortable shoes are a necessity in my every day wardrobe. If anything, I will always lean more towards a pair of flat shoes than heels. However, heels will always be sexier in my opinion. These are my first pair of Keds. I am actually quite surprised I have never owned a pair. I bought these sparkly black ones from the Macy's location in Herald Square. The best part, these shoes were 85% off!!!! For some reason, Macy's was having a mad sale with an additional 20% off for every purchases not including accessories and cosmetics. Because of that sale, the crowd in the "world's largest store" was insane!!! First of all, having nine floors of shopping for a shopaholic is satisfying enough, but if you have additional sales the fierceness in shoppers begin to shine! LOL! I have to admit some sales associates dealt with costumers with grace, while others were straight out rude. Also, a great thing about being a tourist in Macy's, I also received a Macy's visitor's pass. With a pass, I received an additional 10% off purchases. So if you are visiting NYC, make a trip to the costumer service/visitor counter at Macy's to get your pass!! Anyways aside from the ample levels of shopping in Macy's, I enjoyed the original wooden escalators in there. I have never been on one before and it made Macy's look more historical and genuine. All I can think of now is when I wear these shoes for the first time, I will feel like Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz. Oh and I only paid $13 for these shoes!!!!

New York City Shopping - Post Four - Kenneth Cole Velvet Blazer
Last F/W 2010, velvet came back with a full force. I somewhat joined the bandwagon late with the velvet trend, but sooner or later I was determined to find a decent velvet blazer. By luck, while walking into the Kenneth Cole store in Woodbury Outlets, I stumbled upon a nice black velvet blazer at a very cheap price! It originally cost 80 dollars, but I got it for 15!!! What a steal! I love finding clothes at cheap prices unexpectedly!!!

New York City Shopping - Post Three - Chanel Écriture de Chanel
For dramatic, but also elegant eye make up, I have always used liquid eyeliner. In my opinion, liquid eyeliner creates a more clean and crisp look. As well, you rarely have to reapply liquid eyeliner when you are out in public. However, using liquid eyeliner is a challenge since you need to be precise when applying it to your eyes. Nonetheless, with practice, you become a pro. For that reason, I now buy better quality liquid eyeliner and Chanel écriture is one of them. I have not used this brand in particular for my eyes, but I am looking forward to using it for the first time. I have a feeling just like the other Chanel products I have, this eyeliner will not disappoint me.

New York City Shopping - Post Two - Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick
This is my second item from Chanel's make up collection. I have to say, the quality of make up from Chanel is phenomenal. The colour I bought is called lover and it is a pretty shade of red. This colour of red falls more towards the blue-ish dark shade of red not the orange-y shade. With my skin tone, I always go with the former than latter. Overall, the colour lasts long on my lips and it makes my lips stand out. So, if you want a great red lipstick, I recommend to check out what Chanel has to offer to you. The price may not be favorable to many, but it is worth it in the end. Trust me on this one!

(Post) New York City Trip Rant
I am back from the Big Apple!!!!!!!! I fell in love and left my heart in New York City. I am convinced that the only city I would move to in the USA is New York City. More specifically, the borough of Manhattan. A shopping post is in the works. All I can say is that I almost had a shopping coma...LOL! Lastly, a month long visit to New York City or a move to New York City is definitely in the works. Of course the challenge is to find a job first...So if any of you bloggers have any advice as to how a young and university educated Canadian can make a move to NYC, please let me know! Thanks in advance! =)
