Red is the dominant colour associated and used during the holidays. We can see different shades of red in tree ornaments to baked goods to even "fashionable" finds. My Christmas outfit this year followed a floral pattern, which used various shades of red. I wore this dress because it kind of reminds me of my paternal grandmother. She loves the colour red and it does not help that her name is Rose too...lol. Anyhoo I hope you bloggers out there enjoyed your Christmas, Boxing week sales and are excited to ring in 2011 tomorrow night. However before I sign off, I have a question I would like you to think about: "What was your most "fashionable" purchase in 2010?" I'm trying to think of mine, which I plan to write about in my next post (hopefully on New Year's day). In the meantime all the best in the new year and let us make 2011 a year of unique "fashionable" purchases!
A written account of my "fashionable" purchases...Need I say more?

Joe Fresh Style - Black Tights
Meet Joe Fresh. Joe Fresh is a clothing line offered in your local Loblaws. It is very affordable for the masses and quite convenient too. Nothing beats buying food, while at the same time buying "fashionable" purchases. An interesting tad bit of this fashion line is that it is designed by the man behind Club Monaco. Interesting oui? Black tights are a must go to cold wear accessory. Any Canadian fashion lover can never go wrong wearing tights. You can pair them with shorts or of course dresses and skirts in the colder seasons. I suggest to venture out and try different prints, textures and colours. I am still on the hunt for mustard and burgundy/red wine coloured tights. Any suggestions?
On a side note, I do apologize for this poor quality of a picture...

Aldo - Uziel
Nothing beats elegant and simple black heels. They will always be useful and easy to match any outfit. A mid-low heel is very convenient for every day use (i.e. if you work in an office or have to stand on your feet for long periods of time). For me, I prefer almond toe shape or round toe shape heels. They look cuter and suit my style well. However, pointed toe shape and all of the other toe shapes out there are also beautiful. It is only better to follow the shoe style that your heart flutters for, but of course you need to try on different choices too!

Charlotte Russe - Velvet Mini Skirt
Tis' the season to wear velvet! This material can only be pulled off in the colder seasons. More specifically, during the winter time. For this season velvet has re-emerged greatly for cold weather fashion. The downside of velvet is the challenge to find a nice feeling velvet in comparison to the cheap quality material out there. Lucky for me, I found a nice purple velvet mini skirt at a cheap price! However, a fair warning, please don't go overboard when wearing velvet....unless of course you are George Costanza and have a desire for a velvet chesterfield!

Lanvin ♥ H&M - Necklace
Nothing is as amazing as when a designer collaborates with an affordable clothing chain such as H&M. The downside of a collaboration is that the collection is only available in certain cities, countries and locations. I am fortunate enough to live in a city that has a passion for fashion and many H&M stores. I intentionally was going to line up in the cold to buy and own one piece from the Lanvin ♥ H&M collection, but I changed my mind at the very last minute. I already knew people were staying in line over night and that my chances were quite slim on buying anything. So, I decided to stay home and wait out the possible return of items. Therefore another downside is having to wait in line and the people who purchase items to sell them on ebay for a higher price. It is sad to know that people want to make the extra dollar off of anything. Regardless, two weeks later of the release date, I was fortunate enough to snag a necklace. I guess good things happen to people who wait...so the waiting game continues for other accessories and clothes from this collaboration!

7 For All Mankind - Dojo
A true denim lover at heart will always need to find the right pair of jeans. There are multiple jean brands out there, but some are better than others. I for one love 7 For All Mankind. They fit nicely and their embellished pockets are a great asset too. The downside is that this brand only caters to tall people, which means a visit to a tailor is guaranteed.
